Simone A. Vivirito

NEW CARLISLE - Simone A. "Sam" Vivirito, 62 years old, residing on N. Meadow Lane in New Carlisle, IN, passed away at thirteen minutes until six o'clock in the morning at the St. Joseph Regional Medi-cal Center in South Bend. Mr. Vivirito was born on May 18, 1938, in Chicago, IL, to August and Bessie (Rappolo) Vivirito. His father preceded him in death. Mr. Vivirito has been a resident of our local area since 1973, moving from Park Ridge, IL. On February 27, 1960, in Park Ridge, he married Mary Ann Scarnato, who survives.

Along with his wife of 40 years, survivors include two daughters, Joan (David) Albright of Aztec, NM, and Susan (Timothy) Flowers of Mishawaka, IN; seven grandchildren, Angela Molenda, Michael Molenda, Christina Flowers, Amanda Flowers, Daniel Albright, Timothy Albright and Patrick Albright; his mother, Bessie Vivirito of Chicago Trail Village, New Carlisle; father-in-law, Andrew Scarnato; three sisters-in-law, Dee (Gerald) Resnick, Jennifer (Steven) Fenili, and Johanna and Frank DiMartino, as well as Molly and Tasha.

Mr. Vivirito worked in the banking field for 18 years and then retired on June 1, 2000, after 26 years of employment with A.M. General Corporation. He was a member of the Unity Church of Peace and past member of the Board of Trustees. He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University Bankers College and a talented organist.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 14, 2000, at the Unity Church of Peace, 905 E. Colfax St., South Bend, IN. Rev. Diana M. May will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 2-6 P.M. today, August 13, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. There will be a chapel service at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 15, at the St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, IL.
