SOUTH BEND - Josefa G. Villarreal,
92, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, in
her home. Josefa was born on March 6, 1916, in Mission, TX, to
the late Zacharias and Virginia (Garza) Gonzalez.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Maria Cantu,
and by her brother, Jose Jesus Gonzalez. On June 24, 1949, she
married Jose G. Villarreal, who survives along with two
daughters, San Juana Villarreal and Virginia (Agustin) Yado,
both of South Bend; two grandchildren, Agustin and Irene Yado;
and four great-great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Joseph, Guadalupe
and Vincent Joseph. She was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic
Church. Her love life revolved around her family; she was an
adoring mother, grandma and "Visa" (Great-Grandma). She
enjoyed calling her relatives in different states. Her greatest
passion was her flower gardening. Her devotion was reading her
Bible, and saying her Rosary every day.
She was given a Mass of Christian Burial at the Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission, TX, and was laid to rest in Laurel Hills Cemetery between her parents. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, assisted the family.
