Mrs. Harry (Florence) Verkler

August 25, 1901 – August 27, 1982

Mrs. Florence Z. Verkler, 81, of 1611 N. College, died at 5:19am today in Memorial Hospital after a six month illness.  She was a homemaker.

She was born on August 25, 1901, in Grovertown, and lived in South Bend since coming from Hamlet in 1915.  On January 16, 1921, in South Bend, she married Harry H. Verkler, who survives, with a nephew, Richard B. Johnson of Coldwater.

Services will be at 2pm Monday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William, with Rev. Gary L. Forbes, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Sunday in the funeral home.  She was a member of the church, Chapter 2 Order of Eastern Star, the Kiwanis Auxiliary and the Progress Club.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
