MISHAWAKA - Larry Dean Vergon, 68, residing in Mishawaka, IN,
passed away at 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 25, 2010, in the Golden
Living Nursing Center. Larry was a retired South Bend police
officer. After his retirement in 1988 he managed River Park
Apartments for 15 years. Larry was born on September 11, 1941, in
South Bend, IN, to Kenneth and Jean (Hibschman) Vergon, and
remained a lifelong resident. On April 7, 1989, he married Vicki
(Smith) Vergon, who survives. Along with his wife, Vicki, Larry
is survived by his daughter, Kim Vergon of Mishawaka; three sons,
Mike (Tamara) Vergon of Fishers, IN, Keith (Donna) Vergon of
Mishawaka and Wade Vergon of Chicago, IL; mother, Jean Vergon of
Mishawaka; four stepchildren, 14 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren; and by his sister, Vicki (Denny) Kenaga of
Mishawaka. Larry was a member of F.O.P. #36 and American Legion
Post #303. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. There will be
no services or visitation. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South
Bend, and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family
with arrangements. Contributions in memory of Larry Vergon may be
