SOUTH BEND - Lillian M. Vaselin, 81, passed away on
Monday, December 17, 2007, in Madison GeroPsych Institute,
following a brief illness. Lillian was born on February 9, 1926,
in Buchanan, MI. She was the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Ketchum)
Letcher, who both preceded her in death; along with a sister,
Grace; and three brothers, Harvey, Joseph, and Robert. She
graduated from Buchanan High School and South Bend Business
College. Lillian was retired from Healthwin Specialized Care
Facility, where she worked in the Business Office for 17 years.
On November 4, 1950, as Lillian M. Letcher,
she was united in marriage with John M. Vaselin at the Basilica
of Notre Dame. She is survived by her loving husband John, of 57
years; her daughter, Anita (husband John) Manuszak of
South Bend, IN; a son, John Jr. (wife Roberta) of Buffalo, WY; a
son, James of Warsaw, IN; and eight grandchildren, Nicholas,
Katie, and Jonathan Manuszak, all of South Bend, IN, and Josie,
Laura, Bridger, Colter, and Johnny Vaselin, all of Buffalo, WY.
Lillian was a lifetime member of Christ the King Parish. She
loved and cherished her family. Her family was the number one
priority in her daily life. She will be greatly missed by a
multitude of friends and grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today
(Wednesday, December 19, 2007) in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N.
Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Parish Rosary will be
prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2007, in Christ the King
Catholic Church, with Rev. Neil Wack, C.S.C. officiating. A
Reception will immediately follow in Christ the King Parish Hall.
A Committal Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the
Oak Ridge Cemetery Chapel in Buchanan, MI, where Lillian will be
laid to rest.
