SOUTH BEND - Robert A. "Bob" Varga, 64, of South
Bend, passed away at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008, in
Memorial Hospital. Bob was born October 8, 1943, in South Bend,
to the late Stephen and Helen (Molnar) Varga. He was also
preceded in death by his brother, Jeff.
On June 11, 1965, in South Bend, Robert
married Lynne (Martin) who survives. He is also survived
by a daughter, Cindy Varga of Mishawaka; a son, Allen Varga of
South Bend; sister, Jill (Edward) Ornat of Mishawaka;
brother, Steve E. (Carol) Varga of Sanford, N.C.; sister-in-law,
Myra Varga; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jinny K. (Tom) York
of Whitesburg, TN; and brother-in-law, Charles Martin of
Cathedral City, CA; two aunts, Mary (Micky) Paszkiet of
South Bend and Agnes Molnar of Weslaco, TX; numerous nieces and
nephews; and his faithful traveling companion, Molly May.
Robert worked many years at Wheelabrator
Frye until they moved out of state. He then started working for K
& M Fabricating, in Cassopolis, Michigan, as a set-up man for
more than 20 years. He was a member of the Army and Navy Garrison
146. Bob, (Captain Stubby) was a very hard worker, always doing
good for others. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved deer
hunting, mushroom hunting, and fish-ing. He also liked shooting
the breeze with his buddies and did extensive traveling
throughout his life, and has been from one end of the country to
the other. He loved doing sculpture building for K&M
Fabricating, where he worked, and has several sculptures
throughout the Michiana area, one is at the University of Notre
Dame and another at County Rd. 19 in Elkhart. Bob was also a big
Notre Dame fan and NASCAR buff. His funny actions and hu-mor will
be greatly missed by all of his friends and family.
A memorial service was held 12:00 (noon)
Tuesday, March 25, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 17033
Cleveland Rd., South Bend, with Rev. Barbara Wilson officiating.
Friends may visited one hour prior to services on Tuesday in the
funeral home. Cremation took place at Welsheimer Crematory. In
Bob's memory, contributions may be made to any charity of one's
choice. My Dad I will miss your smile and sweet embrace And all
the times you laughed at my silly ways. I will miss your good
cooking, Especially Grandma's fried chicken and your soups. I
will miss your honest wisdom. You always had a way with words. I
will miss you saying "I love you". And your caring for
everyone. Will this hurt ever end? I don't know, But I Will see
you again, Someday.....
