Beloved
husband, father, and grandfather, Robert H. "Belgie"
Van Wynsberghe, 68, of Darden Road in South Bend, Ind.,
passed away following a brief illness at 3:25 p.m. Thursday, Aug.
9, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.
"Robert
was a man of honesty and integrity. He was a wonderful husband,
father and grandfather who loved to spend time with his family.
He was loved and admired by everyone who knew him."
He was
born on March 26, 1933, to the late Henry and Elizabeth
(Shock) Van Wynsberghe in South Bend, and was a lifelong
resident.
Mr. Van
Wynsberghe retired as a skilled trades committeeman from AM
General on Dec. 31, 1994, after 30 years of service.
On April
11, 1959, he married the former Joan M. Makielski in South Bend.
She survives. He is also survived by three sons, Robert H. Van
Wynsberghe II of Chandler, Ariz., Dennis S. (Lora) of Cave Creek,
Ariz., Michael A. Van Wynsberghe of Greenville, S.C.; two
grandchildren, Brittany and Chelsea Van Wynsberghe, both of Cave
Creek; a sister, Gloria (Michael) Urbanski of Mishawaka, Ind.;
two brothers, Raymond (Marlene) Van Wynsberghe and Charles
(Janie) Van Wynsberghe, both of South Bend; and by several nieces
and nephews.
Mr. Van
Wynsberghe belonged to Christ the King Parish, United Auto
Workers Local No. 5, and the Indian Lakes Golf Club. He was a
U.S. Army veteran.
A Mass
of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, in
Christ the King Catholic Church, with Rev. Robert L. Epping,
C.S.C., officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Friends
may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, in the
Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a
parish Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.
