November 21, 1910 –November 29, 2001

Helen E. Van Wynsberghe, 91, of the Elkhart Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Long Island NY, South Bend IN and Sun City AZ, passed away Thursday, November 29, in the nursing home.

Helen was born on November 21, 1910, in New York NY.  She taught school with the Mineola, Long Island, New York Schools and the South Bend Community School Corporation.

Helen married Leon Rene Van Wynsberghe, who preceded her in death on June 4, 1981.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Mary Ann (Paul) Shanley of Granger IN; a step-granddaughter, Margaret (Michael) Rose; step-great-grandchildren, Sarah, Grace and Michael; and by a sister-in-law, Marguerite Pluta of South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, December 1, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where friends may call one hour prior to services.  Entombment will take place at Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City AZ.
