Irma D. VanWanzeele (July 23, 1925 - May 30, 2001)

Irma D. VanWanzeele, 75, of Rush Road, South Bend, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday in her residence.

She was born July 23, 1925, in South Bend, and was the daughter of Camiel and Mary (DeSmet) DeWispelaer.

On March 23, 1946, in South Bend as Irma DeWispelaer, she married Albert VanWanzeele who preceded her in death on January 11, 1991. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Surviving is a son, Albert (Lilia) VanWanzeele of South Bend; three grandchildren, Joseph A. (Jennifer) VanWanzeele of South Bend, David (Lemi) VanWanzeele of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Susanne VanWanzeele of South Bend; and two great grandchildren, Alisa VanWanzeele and Shainna VanWanzeele, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery.

Mrs. VanWanzeele was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and she had served dinners at the Monday night bingos.
