MISHAWAKA - Camiel VanVooren, 63, was dead on arrival Monday
evening at St. Joseph Hospital, where he was taken from his home
in the city ambulance after suffering an apparent heart attack.
He was born April 24, 1907 in Moerbeke, Belgium, coming to
Mishawaka from that city 57 years ago. He married Mary Charnoski
in Misharaka on Sept. 9, 1928. She survives in addition to two
daughters, Mrs. Robert Buwa of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Robert Price,
of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a brother Aloys VanVooren of Detroit; and
three sisters, Mrs. David Durant of South Bend, Mrs Remi Maenhout
of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Robert Crosby of Las Vegas, Nev.; five
grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. todday in the Bubb Funerl Home Chapel, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Final arrangements are being completed. He was a member of St. Monicas Catholic Church. He retired a year age from Uniroyal Inc. after 46 years of service.
