Hector Van Ooteghem

1882 - October 3, 1959

Hector Van Ooteghem, 77, of 526 W. 10th St., died at 7am today in St Joseph's Hospital, South Bend, after a brief illness.

He was born in Hansbeke, Belgium, and came here from that country 54 years ago.  In 1903 in Belgium, he married Miss Julie Neyrinck who died November 17, 1918.  Surviving are a son, Harry Van Ooteghem of Port Huron MI three daughters, Mrs. Donald Mills of Decatur MI, Mrs. Maurice Coppens and Mrs. August Verleye, both of Mishawaka; 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the DeVos Chapel Sunday morning and until the funeral at 9am Wednesday in St Bavo's Catholic Church.  Rt. Rev. Msgr. Otto J. Keller, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Funeral Notes

Pallbearers for Hector Van Ooteghem, 77, of 526 W 10th St., who did Saturday in St Joseph's Hospital, South Bend, will be Arthur Verhaeghe, Camiel Maertens, Basil DeVreese, Peter Neyrinck, Jules Sergant and Achile Sergeant. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 9am Wednesday in St Bavo's Catholic Church by Rt Rev Msgr Otto J. Keller, pastor.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  The rosary will be recited at 7pm Tuesday in the DeVos Chapel.
