Blondyna Bonnie W. Van Ooteghem, 91, of South Bend, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2006, in her residence. Bonnie was born on March 14, 1915, in South Bend, to Stanley and Wanda (Maude) (Miloserny) Bukowski.
On June 22, 1935, in the Cathedral of St. Matthew in South Bend, she married Alfred E. Van Ooteghem, and he passed away on January 20, 1984. In addition to her husband, her parents and sisters, Evelyn Stajkowski, Eugenia Mead and Dorothy Van DeVoorde have all preceded her in death. Bonnie is survived by nieces, Joan Wagner, Carol Cwidak, and Christina Van DeVoorde, all of South Bend; and nephews, Ronald Bailey of South Bend, Paul Bailey of Largo, FL, and Daniel Stajkowski of South Bend.
Bonnie was a Silk Finisher for Little Dutch Cleaners for 33 years before retiring in 1968. She was a parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church where she belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society, and Harvest House.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2006, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. MAYFLOWER ROAD, SOUTH BEND, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006, in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be to Holy Family Catholic Church or to the American Lung Association.
