Martin "Marty" Van Huffel, 50, of Bugle Lane, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Thursday Sept. 14, 2000, at 2:45 a.m. in his residence following an illness. Mr. Van Huffel was born on July 10, 1950, in South Bend Ind., as the son of Emil and Joan (Schroeder) Van Huffel. He was preceded in death by his father, Emil Van Huffel.

On July 17, 1976 in South Bend, he married the former Becky Sweet. Mr. Van Huffel is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Becky; a daughter, Sara Van Huffel; and by two sons, Sam Van Huffel and Ben Van Huffel, all at home. He is also survived by his mother, Joan Van Huffel of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a sister Cheryl Nix of Fort Wayne; and by a brother, Alan Van Huffel of South Bend.

Mr. Van Huffel was employed by Hayes-Lemerz, Bristol, Ind.

Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 18th, in the Saint Peter Lutheran Church, 437 Dragon Trail, Mishawaka. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the church, with Rev. Kenneth Mangelsdorf officiating. Private burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Osceola. Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, is handling arrangements.
