January 6, 1896 – February 22, 1991

MISHAWAKA – Bertha vanHecke, 96, of Carlyle Nursing Home, died at 4:16pm, Friday in the nursing home. She was the former owner of vanHecke’s Tavern in South Bend.

She was born January 6, 1896, in Westdorpe, Holland, but spent much of her life in this area. Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services or visitation. Entombment will be in Fairview Mausoleum. Hahn-deVos Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
