MISHAWAKA - Rachel Van Haver, 83, of East 12th Street, died of natural causes at 7 a.m. Friday in her home. Mrs. Van Haver was born Dec. 8, 1910, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On May 10, 1931, in South Bend, as Rachel DePaepe, she married Adolph Van Haver. He died Aug. 9, 1956. She is survived by two daughters, Betty VanDaele of Dover, Del., and Sylvia Allen of Osceola; two sons, Adolph P. ''Pete'' and James A., both of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Bavo's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Hahn Funeral Home.
