Mrs. Madeleine Van Haverbeke, 82, of 707 Kamm Ct., died at
9:55 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Hospital, where she was taken by
police in the city ambulance after she became ill in her home.
She was born in Oostcamp, Belgium, on March 9, 1890, and came to Mishawaka from that city in 1922.
As Madeleine Lambert, she married
Patrick J. Van Haberbeke in Oostcamp on Sept. 18, 1922.
He survives, in addition to a son, Roy E. Van Haverbeke, and two
daughters, Mrs. Lester Balmer and Mrs. Robert Balmer, all
of Mishawaka; two brothers and two sisters in Belgium; five
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call from
7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the DeVos Funeral Chapel, where final
arrangements are being made.

Funeral services for Mrs. Patrick J. Van Haverbeke, 82, of
707 Kamm Ct., who died Thursday evening in St. Joseph Hospital
after a sudden illness, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St.
Bavo's Catholic Church. Rev. Stephen Cvaniga, pastor, will
officiate, and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today, all day Sunday, and until services Monday, in the DeVos Funeral Chapel, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
