Gene "Carl" Vandygriff Jr., 56, Mishawaka, passed away at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December, 20, 2005, in his residence. He was born March 30, 1949, in Mishawaka, to Carl E. Vandygriff Sr. and Kathryn (Perrin) Vandygriff. On December 28, 1990, in Mishawaka, he married the former Marlene Graham, who loved him very much and will always love him. She survives with his mother, Kathryn Vandygriff of Mishawaka. Also surviving are four children, Robert Vandygriff, Sherry "Steve" Deal, Mike "Jen" Graham and Melissa Graham, all of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Tim Deal, Gina Deal, Joey Deal, Samantha Graham and Sean Wright. He is also survived by two very special friends, his dogs, Bandit and Bear. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margaret Perrin, and his father, Carl E. Vandygriff.

He was a member of the American Legion of Mishawaka and also the Mishawaka Eagles. He was a regular visitor at local car shows and also displayed his pride and joy, a 1956 Chevy. Gene, more than anything, loved the things he did with his family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. Entombment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation, PO Box 2763, Portage, IN; or to any M.F.B. Bank under the name of Marlene Vandygriff.
