Antonia Ann VandeLoo, 86, of Borley
Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., died Thursday, July 11, in the Alterra
Sterling House, South Bend, Ind., where she had resided for the
past 1-1/2 years.
Ann was born on March 3, 1916, in the town
of Meeme, Manitowoc County, Wis., a daughter of Joseph and Regina
(Hillebrand) Stein.
On Aug. 28, 1937, she and Anthony G.
VandeLoo were united in marriage at Holy Name Catholic Church in
Sheboygan, Wis. They moved from Wisconsin to Mishawaka in 1942.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony, on June 29,
1980; her brother, Frederick; and by her sisters, Bernice Stein
and Marjorie Schultz. She is survived by two daughters,
Joanne (Richard) Van Avermaete of South Bend and Jeanne
(Dave) Lukasiak of Yorba Linda, Calif.; three brothers,
Roman (Monnie) Stein and Leander (June) Stein of Mishawaka, and
Robert of Green Bay, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Stein of
Mishawaka, and a sister-in-law, Loraine VandeLoo of Cleveland,
Wis. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brian (Denise)
Van Avermaete of Hudson, Ohio, Gregg (Sandra) Van Avermaete of
South Bend, Suzanne (Richard) Moltzen of Alpharetta, Ga.,
Christopher Van Avermaete of Chicago, Ill., David Lucero,
Jereld Lukasiak and Lisa (Lance) Laforest, all of Phoenix,
Ariz.; eight great-grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew, Ashley,
Anthony, Amy, Lisa, Julie and Laura; and by numerous nieces and
nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1
p.m. Monday, July 15, in St. Joseph Church, Mishawaka.
Family and friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m.
today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street,
Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Memorial
donations may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, the
Alzheimer Association, or to St. Joseph Church, Mishawaka.
