SOUTH BEND - Beloved mother, wife and
grandmother, Geraldine J. ''Jerry'' Van Camp, 74, of
Sampson Street in South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness
at 4:16 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, in Memorial Hospital, South
Bend. She was born to Joseph and Ruth (Condon) Torok on
Aug. 23, 1924, and was a lifelong resident. She was preceded in
death by her parents.
On Aug. 14, 1948, as Geraldine J. Torok,
she married Robert ''Beans'' Van Camp in St. Stephen Catholic
Church, South Bend. He survives. She is also survived by a
daughter, Jill A. (Scott) Marsh of South Bend; a son, Dee
Kevin (Mary) Van Camp of Newport, R.I.; two grandchildren, Riley
Scott and Haley Amelia Marsh; and by a sister, Ruth Ann (Russ) Ryker
of South Bend.
Mrs. Van Camp was a member of School Men's
Wives of South Bend, the Christ Child Society, St. Matthew Parish
and the Rosary Society of the church. She was a 1943 graduate of
Riley High School.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m.
on Friday, May 21, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix
Drive, South Bend, with Rev. Michael W. Heintz officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park,
Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today,
May 20, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may
be made to the American Lung Association, 319 S. Main Street,
South Bend, IN 46601
