MISHAWAKA - Thelma I. (Baker) Valentine, 85, of Ballard Avenue, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday in the home of her son on Ballard Avenue. Mrs. Valentine retired in 1973 from Whitehall Pharmaceutical Co., Elkhart, after 25 years of service. She was born Sept. 14, 1910, in Mishawaka.

On Jan. 27, 1932, in South Bend, as Thelam I. Baker, she married Leland H. Valentine. He died Dec. 17, 1992. She is survived by a son, Joe L. of Mishawaka; three granddaughters; a sister, Millie Faye Blair of South Bend; and three brothers, Ross W. Baker, Robert W. Baker and Joseph Baker, all of Mishawaka.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
