Charles D. Urednick, 88, of West 16th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an
illness at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, in the Countryside Place
Nursing And Rehabilitation Center, Mishawaka.
Charles was born Sept. 12, 1913, in North Judson, Ind., as the son of the
late Frank and Francis (Versal) Urednick. Charles was preceded in
death by two brothers, Frank and Tony Urednick. He is survived by
a brother, Joseph (Blanche) Urednick of Bremen, Ind.; a longtime
friend and companion, Rosaline Easterday of Michigan City, Ind.;
and by many nieces and nephews.
Charles worked in the final
assembly department of the South Bend Lathe Company for 38 years
before retiring in 1978. He was a veteran of the United States
Army. He served his country during World War II as a sergeant
from Headquarters & Supply Company, 301st Engineering
Battalion. Charles was also a veteran of the United States Navy.
He served his country again during the Korean Conflict as a
machinery repairman, third class.
Charles was a lifetime area
resident and a member of the American Legion #161 of Mishawaka, V.F.W. Post 360, the Mishawaka Eagles and St.
Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 3:30
p.m. today, Jan. 24, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street,
Mishawaka.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, in St.
Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Rev. Robert Yast will
officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
VFW Post 360 and American Legion #161 of Mishawaka will conduct
military rites.
