SOUTH BEND - Oral Clark Unger, 88,
of Regency Place Retirement Community, formerly of S. 33rd Street,
died about 7:05 a.m. today in the nursing center. Mr. Unger
retired on Sept. 24, 1966, as a parts supplier for the former
Wheelabrator-Frye Corp., Mishawaka, after 30 years of service.
He was born Sept. 14, 1901, in Tipton County, Ind., and lived in South
Bend since 1924, coming from Edmondton, Alberta, Canada. On
April 14, 1931, in Cassopolis, he married Blanch Marie Sullivan.
She died Dec. 31, 1986. He is survived by four
grandchildren, Norma McGee of Tampa, Fla., Howard Calvert of Columbia,
S.C., Robert Lee Woods II and Sherry Darites, both of Hollywood, Calif.;
and a sister, Grace Huff of Red Deer, Alberta. A daughter,
Donnabelle Stetler, and a son, Robert Lee Woods, preceded him in
death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at
Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd. Burial will be
at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call
two hours before services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to Miami Trails Congregation of
Jehovah's Witnesses, 18950 Roosevelt Road, South Bend, 46614.
