Herman H. Unger, 76, of 19559 Southland Ave., died at 1 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Unger was the former owner of Unger Body Shop for 36 years, having retired in 1972.  He was born Dec. 4, 1910, in Saskatchewan, and lived in South Bend for 62 years, having come from Canada.  On Jan. 12, 1935, in South Bend, he married Rose Farkas, who survives.  Also surviving are a daughter, Sharon R. Howland of Lakeville; a son, Ronald of Ormand Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; a sister, Grace Huff of Edmonton, Alberta; and a brother, Clark of South Bend.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday in the funeral home.  He was a member of Independent Garage Owners Association.
