NORTH LIBERTY - Dorothy I. Ulbricht, 78, residing on Smilax Road, North Liberty, passed away at 1:31 p.m. Friday, Sep-tember 21, 2001, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, following a brief illness. Mrs. Ulbricht was born July 20, 1923, in North Liberty, IN, as the daughter of Claude E. & Lulu M. (Tinkey) Roush, and was a lifelong resident of North Liberty. She retired in 1986 as a nurse for Dr. S. Jack Drake, D.O., and Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Walkerton.

On May 21, 1949, in South Bend, as Dorothy I. Roush, she married Ernest F. Ulbricht, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Betty J. (Neal) Stockeland of Grand Rapids, MI, and Jonathan Stockeland of Grand Rapids. Also surviving is one brother, Richard D. (Ruth L.) Roush of North Liberty. Dorothy was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey A. Howell on November 4, 1978; one sister, Pearl H. Roush; and three brothers, Lyle E. Roush, Darrell E. Roush and George I. Roush. She was a member of North Liberty Church of the Brethren and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 290, North Liberty.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, in North Liberty Church of the Brethren. Rev. Verne H. Leininger, pastor, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 South Michigan Street, Lakeville, and one hour prior to services Tuesday in the church.
