James H. Tyler
James H. Tyler, 84, of 50505 U.S. 31 N., died at 5:45 pm Thursday
in Healthwin Hospital after a one year illness. He was a retired
steam fitter. Born on Sept. 3, 1897, in Attica, Ind. he lived in
South Bend most of his live. On Nov. 26, 1952, in South Bend, he
married Millicent Wiltfong. She survives with a daughter, Mrs.
Lillian Zernick of Santee, Calif.; two sons, Earl of South Bend
and Jack of Eagle, Idaho 17 grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 am Monday in the
Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan. Rev. May Lundgren,
assistant pastor of the Zion Untied Church of Christ will
officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends
may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Sunday in the funeral home,
where masonic services will be conducted at 7 pm. He was a member
of Lodge 675 F & AM, and the Plumbers and Steam fitters Union
local 172. Memorial contributions may be maed to the St. Joseph
County Cancer Society.
