Sister M. Margaret Anne, CSC, 89, of St. Marys Convent, Notre Dame, died there at 12:30 a.m. today. Sister Anne was born Apr. 27, 1896 in Stratfod, Ontario, as Mary Olive Tyers. She is survived by two sisters, Sister M. Henrietta, CSJ, and Sister M. Cajetan, CSJ, both of Sarinia, Ontatio.
She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Saint Marys, on July 3, 1920, after moving here from Jacksonville, Ill. She was received as a novice on Jan. 6, 1921, and professed her vows Aug. 15, 1923. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, South Bend, in 1919; was a member of the American Society of Pathologists with registration as a medical technologist; was a fellow of American College of Hospital Administrators; served as administrator of the student infirmary at Notre Dame from 1952 to 1964; was the administrator of St. Johns Hospital, Anderson, Ind. from 1946 to 1952; and was assigned in health-services facilities in St. Joseph Hospital, now St. Joseph Medical Center, Ciaro, and Jacksonville, Ill. and Boise, Idaho. She had lived at St. Marys Convent since 1977.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, St. Marys. Burial will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery, St. Marys. Friends may cal Tuesday and Wednesday in the convent, where a wake service will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ministry of the Poor Fund at St. Marys.
