MISHAWAKA - Florence Ann Turza, 81, passed away on Tuesday, April
6, 2010, at 7:57 a.m. in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross. Florence
was born on November 23, 1928, in South Bend, to Walter and
Martha (Urbanski) Kolczynski. On September 13, 1947, in St.
Hedwig Catholic Church, she married Chester E. Turza. Florence
was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Chester. She is
survived by son, Thomas A. Turza of Osceola, IN; daughters,
Patricia A. Young Cosenza and Barbara J. Young Drajus, both of
Mishawaka, IN; sister, Kathryn (Ed) Van Laere of South Bend, IN;
brother-in-law, Mike Turza of South Bend, IN; grandchildren,
Ernie Young III of Mishawaka, IN, Ann Marie Young of Elkhart, IN,
James (Mary) Young of LaPorte, IN, Jeff (Heather) Young of
Osceola, IN, Heidi (Mike) Else of Jacksonville, NC, Tara (Josh)
Jones of Winchester, VA, Stacey (Randy) Pointer of South Bend,
IN, Nick (Amber) Snider of Mishawaka, IN, Cammie Lewis of
Mishawaka, IN; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Young of
LaPorte, IN, JJ Young of Osceola, IN, Austin Young of Osceola,
IN, Josiah, Eli and Addison Jones of Winchester, VA, Genevieve
Pointer of South Bend, IN, Hunter and Tye Snider of Mishawaka,
IN, Alyssa and Zachary Lewis of Mishawaka, IN. Florence worked as
a housekeeper, retiring from the University of Notre Dame in
1994. Florence was a member of the Harvest House, the Rosary
Society and Golden Clusters of St. Adalbert, St. Anthony, St.
Hedwig churches of South Bend and St. Joseph Church of Mishawaka.
She was also a member of UAW Retirees Club and PNA, South Bend.
She enjoyed playing bingo at McDonalds on South Michigan Street.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010, in
ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary
will be prayed at 4 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at
11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2010, in the funeral home. Burial
will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial
contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225
S. Mill, Mishawaka, IN 46544. For those who are unable to attend
the funeral liturgy, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
