Sam D. Turner

May 11, 1910 – August 13, 1978

Sam D. Turner, 68, of 138 N. Kenmore, died at 4:40pm Sunday in Healthwin Hospital after a three year illness.  He was a retired employee of Healthwin Hospital.

Turner was born May 11, 1910, in Gallatin TN, and moved to South Bend 33 years ago from Louisville KY.  On March 9, 1948, in Louisville, he married Gladys Turner, who died on November 1, 1977.  Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Bessie Turner of Indianapolis and four brothers, Robert H. of Akron OH, Charlie of Cincinnati OH, and Cornelius and Marlin, both of Gallatin.

Services will be at 11am Saturday at Olivet A.M.E. Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Clarence G. Robinson, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5 to 9pm Friday at Clark’s Funeral Home.
