Mrs. Elizabeth
Turk, 79, formerly of South Bend, who lived with her daughter,
Mrs. Frieda Shebet, 7255 W. 400 N, Michigan City, died at 5pm
Sunday in St Anthony’s Hospital, Michigan City, after
a year’s illness.
Born May 28,
1896, in Hungary, she had lived here 53 years, coming from
Chicago, before moving to Michigan City seven years ago. On
May 4, 1920, in Detroit, as Elizabeth Endli, she married Joseph
Turk, who died October 25, 1964.
Surviving
besides Mrs. Shebet are two other daughters, Mrs. Irene Zeichman
of Saline MI and Mrs. Julie Catrants of Royersford PA; a son,
Joseph of Pinellas Park FL; 17 grandchildren and six great
grandchildren.
Services will be
at 10am Tuesday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Msgr
John S. Sabo, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in
Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to9pm today in the Zahoran Funeral Home.
