SOUTH BEND - Marian V. Tubbs, 78, of East Washington Street and Fisher Lake, Three Rivers, died at 10:25 p.m. Sunday in her home in Three Rivers. Mrs. Tubbs was born July 4, 1916, in South Bend.

On June 24, 1939, in South Bend, as Marian V. Murphy, she married Kenneth J. Tubbs. He died Sept. 2, 1988. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Karczewski of Granger, Kathleen Jamieson Sweeney of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Connie Hurley of Culver; two sons, Patrick A. of South Bend and James K. of Raleigh, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Margaret Ekstrom of New Carlisle, Lillian Strohm of Woodstock, Ill., and Waneta Garvey and Janet Garvey, both of South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
