Lawrence E. Tschida, 72, of Remington, Ind., formerly of
South Bend, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the South Lake Care
Center, Merrillville, following an extended illness. He was an
inspector for the J. & L. Steel Co. of East Chicago. He was
born on March 20, 1911, in South Bend, and lived here until 1955,
when he moved to Griffith. On March 4, 1950, in South Bend, he
married Jeanne M. Pressler, who survives. He also is survied by
two daughters, Mrs. Janice Estrada and Mrs. Pamela Kanelopoulos,
both of Gary; two sons, Thomas Bothwell and Terry
Bothwell, both of Crown Point; 17 grandchildren; and two sisters,
Mrs. Pauline Weintzel and Mrs. L-Nore (Eleanor) Langel,
both of South Bend.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary of the
Assumption Church with Rev. F. Thomas Lallak, pastor,
officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may
call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home.
He was a member and past president of the Lions Club in New
Elliott, Ind.
