John S. Tschida, 82, of 214 Pagin street, died last night at his residence, at 10:15 o'clock after an illness of three months from complications.  He was born in Austria, Oct. 18, 1843 and had lived here 38 (smudge mark on article over the years) years, coming here from Austria.  He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, one daughter, Mrs. Johanna Wartha, two sons, John P. and Frank J. Tschida, all of South Bend.  The body may be viewed at the residence until the hour of the funeral which will be held in St. Mary's Roman Catholic church, Monday morning at 9 o'clock, Rev. Michael Oswald officiating.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery.
