SOUTH BEND - Glenn Wesley Troyer, 98, of Wheeling, IL,
formerly of South Bend, died at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, July 28,
2008, in his residence at Addolorata Villa in Wheeling. Mr.
Troyer was born February 1, 1910, in Goshen, IN, to the late
Wesley C. and Blanche (Musser) Troyer, and had lived in
South Bend since 1946 until moving to Wheeling several years ago.
On April 28, 1943, in Clarksburg, W.Va., he married Emma F. Smith,
who preceded him in death on October 11, 2006. He is survived by
three sons, Michael W. (Mila) Troyer of Oceanside, CA,
Christopher D. Troyer of Midland, TX, and William G. Troyer of
Buffalo Grove, IL; and two grandchildren, Stephanie Troyer of
Austin, TX, and Brian Troyer of Carollton, TX. Mr. Troyer retired
from the South Bend Tribune in the printing department in 1975
after over 34 years service. He was a longtime member of St.
Patrick Catholic Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War
II.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 1st, in St. Patrick
Catholic Church, with Rev. Leonard Chrobot officiating.
Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call
from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Welsheimer Family Funeral
