SOUTH BEND - Mary Deloris Troope, 42,
of 2630 Poland St., died at 8:04 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's
Medical Center after an illness. Ms. Troope had been employed
with St. Joseph County Department of Family and Children's
Services. She was born Oct. 17, 1952, in Helena, Ark., and lived
in South Bend for four years, coming from Gary.
Surviving are a daughter, Tamikia M. Troope
of South Bend; two sons, Reginald D. Hubert and Herman E.
Troope, both of South Bend; four grandchildren; her mother, Mary
L. Williams of Helena; her father, Oliver Troope of
Helena; and five sisters, Eddye Nae Dunbar of Texarkana,
Texas, Carolyn Jordon and Vivian Allison, both of
Little Rock, Ark., Evelyn Akinboboye of West Helena, Ark.,
and Dianna Collins of Hamtramck, Mich. She received an
associate degree in business administration from Lewis College,
Detroit, and bachelor of arts degree from University of Detroit,
graduating cum laude. She received several awards and
certificates for her work with abused children.
Services and burial will be at a later date
in Helena, Ark. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in
Alford's Mortuary.
