SOUTH BEND - Christopher Joseph Triest, 30, passed away on
Sunday, May 25th, in his home with his loving girlfriend,
Jeanette Masterson. Christopher was born on May 15, 1978,
in Mishawaka, as the son of Daniel A. and Diana L. (Prawat)
Triest. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter
and Betty Triest. Surviving Chris are his parents; two brothers,
Nicholas P. of South Bend and Patrick M. of Greenwood, IN; a
sister, Lauren M of South Bend; his grandparents, Mary Ellen Malicki
of Mishawaka, Ralph and Gloria Prawat of Granger, and
Kathy Mahoney of South Bend; his aunts and uncles, Sharon
and Andy Smorin of Granger, Greg and Judy Prawat of
Granger, Joseph Malicki, Kent and Debbie Osborn,
Linda Malicki and Jennifer Prawat, all of Mishawaka, Donald and
Connie Keur of Minneapolis, MN, Randy and Mary Lou Ritter of
Danville, CA, Connie McClurg and Brenda Triest, both of
Kalamazoo, MI, Catherine Fleming of Danville, CA, Jeffery
and Laura Triest of Grand Junction, CO, Robbie (Mindy) Evans
of Granger, Jason Evans of Kentucky and Kerry Burch of
Arizona. Also surviving are many cousins, and his very special
goddaughter, Savannah Burch, and his much-loved dog, Shiva. Chris
was a well driller for Peerless Midwest in Mishawaka. He was a
1996 graduate of Marian High School where he played football. He
enjoyed fishing, biking, snowboarding and just being outside.
Most of all, Chris loved being with his family and friends. His
love of animals showed by how much he loved his dog, Shiva.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday,
May 29, from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W.
Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, in
St. Jude Catholic Church, South Bend, with Rev. John Delaney
officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South
Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Pet Refuge, 2300 W.
6th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
