Helen J. Tridle, 87, of Shamrock Gardens, South Bend, Ind., died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. She was born on Nov. 10,1915 in Carter, Mont.
On Jan. 1, 1936, in South Bend as Helen J. Doty she married George Charles Tridle, who preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1995. Helen was also preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Davidson who died on Nov. 10, 1990; a brother, Ken Doty who died on May 19, 1960; and a sister, Margaret Hoppe. Helen is survived by a daughter, Terry Davidson of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two nieces, Sharon Dering and Jeannine Villing, both of South Bend; and a nephew, Tom Doty of Downingtown, Pa.
Helen was a retired elevator operator for First Source Bank, South Bend. She was a member of Epworth Memorial United Methodist Church and the Women's Society at the church. Helen was a kind person with a great sense of humor. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Services for Helen will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend. Rev. Sergio Pereira, pastor of Epworth Memorial United Methodist Church, will conduct the services. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, 5532 West Raymond St., Indianapolis, IN 46241-4305 or to Epworth Memorial United Methodist Church, 2404 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, IN 46628.
