Roy G. Traver

Roy G. Traver, 82, residing at 411 E. Donmoyer, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 7:40 p.m., Wednesday, at his home. Mr. Traver retired in 1978, from Colip Electric, South Bend, after 35 years. Roy was born on Dec. 8, 1913, in South Bend, to the late Bert and Mary (Pritchett) Traver. He has lived in the South Bend area since 1933, coming from Denver, Colo.

On July 6, 1937, in South Bend, he married Hazel M. Knight, who survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Mary Lou Whitaker of Dalton, Ill., Carol Sue Thompson and Vicki Rae Wiggington, both of South Bend; a son, Ronald E. Traver of Chicago, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several cousins in the Roselawn, Ind. area. His parents, Bert Traver and Mary Pritchett preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Roselawn, Ind. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Roy was a member of the AFL Local 153 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Memorial contributions may be given to the Cancer Society of St. Joseph County, Inc.
