David J. Toth

David J. Toth, 79, of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, April 26, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Mr. Toth was born on Feb. 18, 1921, in Perryopolis, Pa., to Peter Toth and Mary Yuhasz. Mr. Toth retired from the former Torrington Corporation.

On June 5, 1948, he married Irene Chookie, who survives. He is also survived by a sister, Margaret Planey of Perryopolis; a brother, Ronald Toth of Perryopolis; and by six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Peter Toth. Mr. & Mrs. Toth are members of Holy Family and St. Patrick Catholic Churches. Mr. Toth was a World War II Veteran and a member of the American Legion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2000 at Holy Family Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be held at 7: 30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Family Church Building Fund, 56405 Mayflower Rd., South Bend, IN 46619, St. Patrick Church Building Fund, 309 S.
