Margaret M. Torok

Margaret M. Torok, 89, of the 5100 block of South Ironwood Road, passed away after an extended illness at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20th, in Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Torok was born on Nov. 10, 1912, in South Bend, Ind., and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area. On Feb. 12, 1934, as Margaret M. DeVreese, she married Albert S. "Bill" Torok, who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn M. Torok; and by a sister, Madeline Van Vyckt.
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Cheryl A. (Frank) Ronchetti of South Bend; two grandchildren, Mindy S. (Bill) Casper and Michael (Tammy) Ronchetti, both of South Bend; four great-grandchildren, Trent and Tyler Casper, and Todd Ronchetti and Alexander Ronchetti; and by a brother, Roger M. DeVreese of Mishawaka, Ind.
Mrs. Torok was retired from the former Inwood's Department Store in 1989 after many years of service. She was active in St. Joseph County 4-H with her daughter and son-in-law.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 22nd, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road and Indiana 23, South Bend. A Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. today.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23rd, in the funeral home, with Rev. Michael Heintz of St. Matthew Cathedral officiating. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
Mrs. Torok was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral, the Rosary Society at St. Matthew Cathedral, and was a member of the 4-H Fair, Inc.
Margaret will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. She was a loving mother, grandmother in which her memories will always be cherished.
The family request that all memorial contributions be made to the St. Joseph County 4-H Scholarship Fund or to the charity of donor's choice.
The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extend deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Torok family.
