Mrs. Helen Tompkins, 57, of 526 S. Liberty St., died today in Memorial Hospital after an illness of 18 months. She was born on Nov. 20, 1908 in South Bend and married on Jan. 25, 1935 to Andrew Tompkins who died in 1964. She is survived by a son, Richard; two grandchildren; a brother Frank Wieczorek and three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Klemczewski, Mrs. Margaret Puzynski and Mrs. Stella Arnold, all of South Bend. Friends may call after 6:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph’s Funeral Home. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church. Rev. John Moskal, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
