Joyce E. Tomasch

Joyce Ellen (Hutyera) Tomasch, 66, of Baintree Way, Mishawaka, Ind., died in Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center, at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23. Joyce was born on Sept. 9, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Andrew and Bertha (Dulovic) Hutyera, and has lived in South Bend since 1968, after coming from the Los Angeles, Calif., area for 10 years.

On Nov. 23, 1955, in Cleveland, she married Walter J. Tomasch, who survives. She is also survived by two sons, Andrew David Tomasch of Northville, Mich., and Gregory Alan Tomasch of San Jose, Calif.; and by a brother, Andrew R. Hutyera of Cadiz, Ohio.

Joyce was a member of First Unitarian Church, South Bend, and a graduate of John Marshall High School and received her B.A. degree from Western Reserve University, Cleveland.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, with the Rev. Lisa Doege, Pastor of First Unitarian Church, officiating. Cremation will take place with interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery on the Notre Dame Campus.
