SOUTH BEND - Caroline M. Tollens, 93, of W. Angela Boulevard, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 3:20 a.m. July 10, at St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Mrs. Tollens was born March 11, 1903, in North Judson, Ind., and has lived in the South Bend area since 1931.

Mrs. Tollens' husband passed away in 1949; his name was Firmin A. Tollens. The two were married May 3, 1922. Other surviving family members are one daughter, Patricia L. Tollens of South Bend, Ind.; one son, John L. Tollens of Evanston, Ill.; one sister, Clara Bokhart of Mishawaka, Ind.

Services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, South Bend, Ind., with Rev. Charles Lavely presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday, July 12, at Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend, Ind. Mrs. Tollens was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies' Auxiliary #1167 and past president. Also she was past president for the district of the ladies' auxiliary of the V.F.W. Memorials may be made to the Forever Learning Center.
