LuVeda W. Tollar, 76, passed away
Wednesday, Oct. 24, in Licking C ounty Hospital in Newark, Ohio.
LuVeda was born Dec. 23, 1924, in South Bend, Ind., to Ralph
LeRoy Payton and Vera Wright. She was a graduate of
John Adams High School. Spending most of her life in South Bend,
she married the late Raymond Peter Tollar on Jan. 28, 1944. She
was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Raymond; and by her
parents. Mrs. Tollar worked for the cafeteria for the South Bend
Schools for 18 years, retiring in 1965.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Anna)
Tollar of Belleville, Wash., their children, Jeff and Jenny; a
son, Eric (Katherine) Tollar of Perrineville, N.J., their
children, Beth and Eric; a daughter, Christine (Kevin) Whitwer
of Newark, Ohio, their children, Kimberly and Kira; and by a
daughter-in-law, Lynn Tollar of Colorado, and her children,
Andrea, Brent and Carrie. LuVeda enjoyed collecting angels. She
spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren, who were
all very special to her. She also loved to watch tennis.
Visitation for Mrs. Tollar will be from 1 to
4 p.m. today in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718
South Michigan Street. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
on Monday in the funeral home, with burial to follow at Chapel
Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Memorials in Mrs. Tollar's
name may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
