Sophie C. Tokay (Oct. 3, 1913 -- Nov. 20,
2005)
Sophie Carolyn Tokay, 92, of Hickory
Road, Granger, Indiana, passed away at 6:37 p.m. Sunday, November
20, in Sterling Alterra House, South Bend.
She was born on October 3, 1913, in Kisbarna,
Hungary. On December 31, 1931, in South Bend, as Sophie Molnar,
she married Emery A. Tokay, who preceded her in death on May 8,
1990. Mrs. Tokay was also preceded in death by one sister, Marge Houser;
and by three brothers, Louis, Frank and Eugene Molnar.
Mrs. Tokay is survived by a son, Ronald N.
(Marlene M.) Tokay of Granger; three grandchildren, Mark N.
(Edna) Tokay of Swannanoa, North Carolina, Brenda M. Warner
of College Park, Maryland, and Lori L. (James) Higgins of
Ashburn, Virginia; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Judy
(Edgar) Wiktorowski of Walkerton, Indiana, Elsie Mroczkiewicz
of South Bend and Helen (Dean) Ayers of Plymouth, Indiana;
and two brothers, Steve (Phyllis) Molnar of LaPaz, Indiana, and
Andrew (Geraldine) Barna of Austin, Texas.
Mrs. Tokay retired as a manager of Claires
Boutique, and was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, South
Bend.
Services for Mrs. Tokay will be at 2 p.m.
Friday, November 25, in Trinity Episcopal Church. Rev. Tina
Velthuizen, pastor of the church, will conduct the services.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Family
Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend. Cremation will
take place after the services at Michiana Crematory, South Bend,
with burial at a later date in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park,
Granger.
In lieu of flowers, the family request
that memorial contributions be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal
Church, 915 N. Olive Street, South Bend, IN 46619.

Sunday in Sterling Alterra House, South Bend, of natural causes.
Survivors include a son, Ronald N. of Granger; three sisters,
Judy Wiktorowski of Walkerton, Elsie Mroczkiewicz of South Bend
and Helen Ayers of Plymouth; and two brothers, Steve Molnar of
LaPaz and Andrew Barna of Austin, Texas. Services will be at 2
p.m. Friday in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, South Bend. Friends
