Sister Catherine Tobin CSC, 82, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 10:20 a.m. Saturday in the convent. She was born May 26, 1908 in Tekamah, Neb. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Jan. 25, 1931; was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1931; and professed her vows on Aug. 15, 1933. She was assigned to teaching in secondary schools and colleges including schools in Woodland, Calif.; Ventura, Calif.; Los Angeles; and St. Mary’s College, and served in administration at Dunbarton College of Holy Cross in Washington DC; and resident director of St. Mary’s in Rome, Italy. She graduated from Duquesne College in Omaha, Neb. And received her masters and doctorate degrees from Catholic University of America in Washington DC.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. at the convent parlors where a wake will be at 7 p.m.
