SOUTH BEND - Services for Rutha Beatrice Titus, 91, of South Harrow Drive, who died at 8:03 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Retirement Community, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Grace United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour before services Friday in the church. Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Hope Rescue Mission.
Mrs. Titus was a former drama and music teacher.
She was born June 29, 1902, in Rochester, and was a lifelong area resident.
On Aug. 13, 1921, in Mishawaka, as Rutha Beatrice Orr, she married Loren O. Titus. He died Sept. 22, 1973.
She is survived by four daughters, Carol Hollahan and Marianna Titus, both of South Bend, Peggy L. Munson of Mount Sunapee, N.H., and Nancy J. Johnson of Pine Springs, Minn.; a son, Dr. Jack L. of White Bear Lake, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A son, Robert N., died Jan. 14, 1994.
She was a member of the church for more than 72 years, a former Sunday school teacher and choir member, a member of PEO Sisterhood and past president of United Methodist Women.
