SOUTH BEND - Joanna M. Timmons, 77, of 23309 Lakeview Drive, Edwardsburg, formerly of South Bend, died at 10:10 a.m. Friday in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, South Bend.

Miss Timmons retired in 1982 from the University of Notre Dame after 40 years as a technician in the bacteriology laboratory. She was born July 27, 1917, in Danville, Ill. She is survived by two brothers, Robert J. of South Bend and J. Thomas Jr. of Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Private services will be held Monday in Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. There will be no visitation.
