SOUTH BEND - Robert D. Tidey II, 64, passed away at 7:24
a.m. Sunday, April 20, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical
Center. Robert was born on April 7, 1944, in Muskegon, MI, to the
late Robert and Marjorie (Rice) Tidey I.
On May 11, 1973, he married Alice (Myers).
She survives along with their five children, Tonya (Ben) Norton
of Mishawaka, Tara (Matthew) Bussell of South Bend, Lisa
(Jim) Grenert of South Bend, Robert (Tamara) Tidey III of
Osceola and Thomas Tidey of SC; 11 grandchildren, Kelby,
Tristian, Justin, Sarah, Brittany, Little Ben, Simeon, Adin,
Taylor, Samantha and Zachary; and two sisters, Pat (Ed) Wyant of
North Liberty and Susan Boon of Arlington, TX. Robert was a
member of the 4-H Club and the Safety and Maintenance Supervisor
Organization. He retired on January 16, 2007, from CDI Service,
where he was operation manager for 17 years. Prior to that he was
a mechanic and driver of "Big Red," the love of his
life at Tidey's Truck Service for 30 years.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, April 24, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower
Road, South Bend. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
on Friday, April 25, in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will
follow at Crumstown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made
to the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair, Inc, 5117 Ironwood Road, South
Bend, IN 46614.
