Christopher Ryan Thorpe, 21, of Calvert Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 8:49 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, in St. Joseph's Medical Center.

He was born on Dec. 3, 1975, in Elkhart, Ind., and lived most of his life in the South Bend area.

Christopher is survived by his father and stepmother, Ronald and Debra Thorpe of South Bend; two sisters, Melissa Thorpe and Amy Thorpe, both of South Bend; a brother, Brad Thorpe of South Bend; paternal grandparents, Ella and John Aurrand of Mottville, Mich.; maternal grandparents, Barbara and Herbert Evans of Bristol, Ind.; grandparents, Ed and Shirley Parent of Osceola, Ind.; and a niece, Tracie Taylor of South Bend.

Christopher was preceded in death by his mother, Jane (Evans) Thorpe, in 1977.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, in Christian Center Church, with Rev. Frank Sumrall officiating. Private burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bristol, Ind.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Chris Thorpe Memorial Fund in care of the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood, South Bend, IN 46615.
