William G. ''Elmo'' Thornton, 49, of
Washington Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away of an apparent
heart attack at 11:49 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, in Elkhart
General Hospital. Elmo was born in South Bend, Ind., on April 5,
1949, to the late Bettie and Gerald Thornton. He was also
preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Thornton on Oct. 21,
1989.
Elmo is survived by three daughters, Amy
Thornton, Tina Travers and Chariesse Trybula; and
two sons, Michael Trybula and Cory Trybula, all of Mishawaka.
Elmo has three grandchildren, Meghan Travers, Patrik Travers and
Dylan Trybula, all of Mishawaka. Elmo has three brothers, Mike
Thornton, Jeffrey Thornton, both of Mishawaka, and Larry Thornton
of Hanover, Ind.
Elmo was employed at Leer Truck Caps of
Elkhart for the past 8 years. Prior to that he worked at Dodge
Reliance for 12 years. Elmo was a veteran of the U. S. Army, and
was a member of American Legion Post 308, Osceola, Ind.
Friends may call two hours prior to services
in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka.
The funeral will take place at noon on Saturday in the Bubb
Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Kenneth Mahan officiating. Burial will
take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. American Legion Post
308 of Osceola will have military rites at the grave.
